Now, Clouseau goes incognito to Hong Kong, and Douvier's ex-girlfriend Simone Legree (Dyan Cannon), who seeks revenge against Douvier, helps Clouseau solve the case.

Clouseau believes that Maria is innocent; however, Chief Inspector Dreyfus (Herbert Lom) is sure that she is guilty and is dismayed–once again–at Clouseau's handling of the case. The number of murder victims increases, but Clouseau is convinced that Marie is being framed and remains determined to prove her innocence.
