  Seeking revenge because Frank Boone (John Anderson) killed U.S. Deputy Marshal Ben Kane's (Robert Mitchum) son, Kane hunts down Frank. Kane teams up with sharp-shooter Billy Young (Robert Walker Jr.) who was once the partner of Jesse Boone (David Carradine)–the son of Frank Boone. Kane's love interest, dance hall girl Lily Beloit (Angie Dickinson) warns Kane that Jesse is plotting to kill him, and Kane sets a trap to use Jessie as bait and finally catch Frank.
