There's oil under that thar lake, and the bad guys–Bob Oliver (Robert Bice), Del Roberts (Douglas Fowley), and Martin Masters (Robert Emmett Keane)–have to get rid of the hatchery in order to get to the oil. So, dynamite is the answer. But–along comes game warden Roy Rogers to investigate (and sing). Songs include "A Good, Good Mornin'," "Two-Gun Rita," "Brush Those Tears from Your Eyes," and the title song.

When Monty Manson (Grant Withers) lets a killer horse loose to raise havoc among the neighboring ranchers, Roy gets into trouble trying to save the day. Songs and romance ensue while Roy succeeds in tracking down the gang, and, when Trigger is wounded, help is found from veterinarian Dr. Sparrow Biffle (Pat Brady). Tom is dating nurse Lt. Helen Landers (Vera Ralston), and Cal is attracted to her also. They complete their training and are transferred to Guam where Helen is also stationed. The time arrives for their mission, and they fly to Tokyo with a squadron of B-29s, but the plane crashes. During the rescue attempt, Tom is killed, and Cal returns to Helen. This film pays tribute to the development of aviation and the daring men who flew bombing missions during World War II.

Don Diego (Reed Hadley), a relative of resident Volita (Sheila Darcy), enters the scene. The foppish Don Diego works with the council while, as the masked Zorro, he deals with the henchmen of Don del Oro. Traps, explosions, avalanches, and other assorted hazards will not stop Zorro in his quest for justice, and the real identity of Don del Oro is revealed. Some of the best cliffhangers of any serial.
