Travel guides Tex and his pal Slim Hunkafeller (Tex Ritter and Slim Andrews) save a wagon train of settlers from an Indian attack. The land office owner, J.W. Carson (Karl Hackett), is not pleased because he had encouraged the attack so that he could scare the settlers and take the land for himself. Meanwhile, Tex has fallen in love with settler Suzannah (Wanda McKay) whose father was killed in the raid. A series of misadventures follow, after which Carson is caught, and Suzannah joins Tex on a new wagon train and continues with her plans to settle in the West. Loosely based on James Fenimore Cooper's "The Leatherstocking Tales."
