Meanwhile, Union General Buford (Sam Elliott) attacks Confederate troops trying to get into position. The story uses both Union and Confederate perspectives to provide a good interpretation of the famous Battle of Gettysburg that claimed 53,000 lives. Both the acting and battle scenes are excellent.

After the Cowboys take revenge by killing Morgan and injuring Virgil, Wyatt leaves town. But, Wyatt returns as a U.S. marshal and hunts down the Cowboys, which results in their leader, Johnny Ringo (Michael Biehn), challenging Wyatt to a duel. This time around, more attention is given to providing insights into those involved, as well as accuracy in detail. Overall, a good story.
