Herzog takes on African slave trading in this epic that didn't make it as big as some of his other films. Aggressive Francisco (Klaus Kinski) oversees a sugar plantation, but after getting the boss's three daughters pregnant he is sent to Africa to round up slaves. Instead, he overthrows the king and takes over the tribe himself.
