  Manuwalde (William Marshall), an African prince who was bitten by Count Dracula (Charles Macauley) in 1780, rises from the dead as vampire Blacula in 1972. He finds Tina (Vonetta McGee), who is his wife Tuva reincarnated, and, after awhile, they fall in love. Meanwhile, Blacula creates havoc in Los Angeles while Tina's friend Dr. Gordon Thomas (Thalmus Rasulala), with help from Michelle (Denise Nicholas), figures out the vampire connection and is on Blacula's trail.

  In this sequel, Kid (Christopher Reid) is planning to marry his girlfriend Veda (Angela Means), and Play (Christopher Martin) is managing the female rap act, "Sex as a Weapon" that he books with promoter Showboat (Michael Colyar) for a show. When "Sex as a Weapon" fires Play, he knows that it will upset Showboat if they do not appear for his show and tries to find a way to get them to perform. Meanwhile, Play arranges Kid's bachelor party, and, of course, after a number of problems, the big bash does take place providing fun for all.

  Percy Baker (James Earl Jones) is a former prizefighter who trains a potential champ, Thunder Carter (Courtney B. Vance). While training at Sugar Brown's (Gloria Foster) camp, Thunder catches the eye of Ralph Tate (Billy Dee Williams). Tate runs a syndicate, and he wants in on the property. Percy is replaced but does not step aside easily, and he works at cleaning up the corruption in boxing.

They hire incompetent private eye Sharp Eye Washington (Richard Pryor) to help find the crooks and must deal with mob kingpin Greechie Dan Beauford (Harry Belafonte) who runs the town.
