This enjoyable comedy/musical is centered on the campus life of young college freshman Dobie Gillis (Bobby Van). Dobie and his roommate Charlie Trask (Bob Fosse) have one goal at Grainbelt University: to have fun. Dobie dates Pansy Hammer (Debbie Reynolds), and Charlie hooks up with Lorna Ellingboe (Barbara Ruick), and they have fun together. But, Pansy's father, George (Hanley Stafford) does not care for Dobie and wants Pansy to leave Dobie and change colleges. And, now the schemes to prevent this from happening lead to many predicaments before Pansy returns to Grainbelt and Dobie.

Ben (Chuck Connors) is a cop who attempts to set up a drag strip to keep the young hot rodders off the streets. Two deaths associated with the races make Ben's job more difficult.

Following their plane crash on a remote island in the Pacific Ocean, radio commentator Mark Bradley (Jeff Richards) and his pilot Joe Walker (John Smith) find weird scientist Dr. Paul Lujan (Alan Napier), and his three daughters–Venus (Venetia Stevenson), Urana (Diane Jergens), and Murcuria (June Blair). Lujan has been working on atomic experiments, and, when Bradley threatens to expose him, Lujan destroys their airplane. The girls help Bradley and Walker build a raft to escape the island, but an explosion in Lujan's solar furnace almost wrecks the island. The blast does attract the attention of Australian authorities, and now the survivors wait for their rescue.

Of course, complications ensue in this entertaining comedy.

Three Devil's Island convicts–Joseph, Albert, and Jules (Humphrey Bogart, Aldo Ray, and Peter Ustinov)–escape and take refuge with the Ducotel family (Leo G. Carroll, Joan Bennett, and Gloria Talbott). While living with the Ducotels, the ex-cons protect the family from evil Uncle Andre Trochard (Basil Rathbone) who threatens the family with eviction after auditing the books of the store he owns that the Ducotels manage. The convicts contemplate murdering Trochard, but Albert's pet poisonous snake does the job for them. Now the Ducotels inherit the store and Trochard's fortune. The convicts have solved the family's problems except for finding a mate for Isabelle (Talbott), but soon that problem will be solved, and the convicts will have done their "good" deeds. 2 User Reviews
