  During the Civil War, Val McBride (Stuart Hamblen) and his gang of Confederate sympathizers are terrorizing citizens in Missouri. Despite Roy's advice, Dave joins the gang, and when Roy does capture them, he must order Dave's execution.

Stanford Jolley) and rancher Ted Greenway (Hal Price). They want to charge the neighboring ranchers exorbitant prices to ship their horses and cattle as the means of forcing them out of the cattle business. Kenyon comes up with a plan to stop Spencer and Greenway, but will it work?

Hoppy finds out that Fox has been posing as the town's moron, but he is found out. Will Hoppy succeed in his mission? A good entry.

Charley is about to be released from prison, so Panhandle is planted in the prison with the mission of finding out from Charley where the loot is hidden. While Panhandle is sleeping, Charley draws a map leading to the gold on the bottom of Panhandle's foot. When they are released from prison, Charley forces Panhandle to go with him back to his old gang, and Charley, unaware of the map on his foot, becomes an important player in retrieving the loot. Plenty of songs and humor.

  Most of this movie consists of flashbacks after Lucille Wiley (Dale Evans) travels to the ghost town of El Dorado where her grandmother had been a dance-hall queen. Lucille runs into singing cowboy Roy Rogers who helps her tow her car into the town and then goes to the Golden Nugget gambling house and meets prospector Gabby Whittaker (George "Gabby" Hayes). Gabby realizes that Lucille looks like her grandmother, Kansas Kate. Lucille falls asleep in Kate's room and dreams about her grandmother (also played by Evans). Her dreams include experiences Kate had with Gabby when he made a gold strike and how a cowboy prevented Cyril and Buster (Hardie Albright and Roy Barcroft) from stealing his claim, and the cowboy became her boyfriend. The grandmother's boyfriend looks a lot like Roy Rogers.

  Detective Tex Stewart (Tex Ritter) poses as outlaw "The Pecos Kid" and, with his pals Ananias (Horace Murphy) and Pee Wee ("Snub" Pollard), learns about a mysterious railroad that Hiram Slaughter (Karl Hackett) and his henchman, Badger (Charles King) are using to rustle cattle to a hideout across the border. The railroad heiress, Sally Jeffers (Pamela Blake), has hired The Pecos Kid to investigate, but problems ensue when Slaughter accuses The Pecos Kid and his pals of being rustlers. Sally turns against them, and they are sentenced to be hanged. All ends well though, and Sally even sees the error of her ways.
