They reach the town, and Pop goes on trial and is found guilty, but Merrick finds the real murderer before Pop is sentenced.

Not one of Buster Keaton's best, but it's very funny and worth a look. Ronald (Keaton) was the top scholar in high school, and he condemns sports during his valedictorian speech. This infuriates his girlfriend (Anne Cornwall) who threatens to quit going out with him. So, when he gets to college, he tries out at several sports with hilarious results. All ends well when he finds the right sport and saves his girlfriend from her latest suitor.

Filmed in the Bowery section of New York City, this is the story of Owen (Rockliffe Fellowes) who was orphaned at 10, grew up on the streets, and became a gangster. After he meets Marie (Anna Q. Nilsson), a social worker in the slums, he decides to try to make something of himself. But–it won't be easy. Raoul Walsh's first feature film is a good one as he captures the atmosphere of the area and uses inventive photography (for the time).

During World War II, Jean Picard (Errol Flynn) is a Frenchman destined for the guillotine when the prison is bombed by the R.A.F. He escapes, heads for Spain, and is pursued by detective Marcel Bonet (Paul Lucas) who does recapture him. On their return, they are delayed in a small village where Jean meets Marianne (Jean Sullivan) and falls for her. While searching for resistance saboteurs, the Nazis capture French hostages and threaten their deaths if the saboteur does not reveal himself. Jean poses as the saboteur and sacrifices himself to save Marianne and the other hostages and, in the process, help the cause of the Allies.
