  I also grew up watching this movie and would love to own it. To let everyone know, Disney has never released this movie onto VHS or DVD. It was only ever shown on TV. If you go to the Disney website, there is a section where you can submit your email to be notified when they do release it. Maybe if they get enough requests, they will finally make it available.

  my mother and i used to watch polly when i was a little girl. and now that I have kids of my own I want them to see this great movies.   This animated adventure takes place on the African Serengeti Plains where Eliza (voice of Lacey Chabert) and Debbie Thornberry (voice of Danielle Harris) have joined their parents (voices of Tim Curry and Jodi Carlisle) who are shooting a documentary. Eliza can talk to the animals and learns that there are poachers in the area, and they plan to destroy an elephant herd. Eliza and her chimpanzee friend, Darwin (voice of Tom Kane), come to the rescue–but not before her overbearing grandmother (voice of Lynn Redgrave) ships her off to boarding school.
