The dinner proves to be a disaster and is made even more so when her parents hire Malena Burns (Hattie McDaniel) to serve as their dinner maid for the party, and she arrives drunk. George and Ira Gershwin songs in this film are great and include "Let's Call the Whole Thing Off," "They All Laughed," and "They Can't Take That Away from Me."
